This type of magnetic building set has become a classic. My children are all in their 20’s now and they loved these when they were little and now I have grandchildren who continue to enjoy playing with them. When I was given the opportunity to purchase these at a reduced rate in exchange for an honest review I was excited to see what changes had occurred over the years in these building sets. What I found is that they are very much the same as they have been for years and why mess with a good thing! We bought our first set probably 20 years ago for a long airplane ride to entertain a 7 year old and it worked! Since then we have added sets and lost many pieces but they continue to be a favorite. Even adults will find themselves putting together the pieces and playing if they find these lying around. My granddaughter is a year old and was staying with me when this set arrived. I know that she is quite young for this type of toy but I opened the package and put the pieces on the floor to see what she would do with them. What she did was started putting them on the front of our stainless steel dish washer! I never thought of using them as refrigerator/appliance magnets but I sat in the floor with her for about 30 minutes putting them on and taking them off with her. A great idea! I also took these in a little baggie to church for a little 3 year old boy who struggles to be still. They were quiet and he was entertained. Great for restaurant play and when you need them to be busy but quiet. The only reason I gave these a four star instead of a five is that they can be pretty spendy. With only 42 pieces and two of them being wheel sets, kids run out of pieces quickly so you really need multiple sets. At about .59 cents per piece it adds up quickly. Other sets of this type can run up to almost $1.00 per piece. These are so much fun for all ages just wish they offered a price break on multiple sets or could keep the quality standard and lower the price. Even at the price they are a great purchase!!!!!

We love these things! They are a little smaller than other magnet sets that I have seen, but we have never personally owned any. As you can see from the pictures it comes as its pictured. It also has a book with some suggested things to put together, but the downside is some of them you don’t have enough pieces so it will take some playing around to see what your limitation are and of course whatever you want to make. I made the house in my picture below and lifted it up as it clicked together as the picture showed, it was pretty neat. The magnets are pretty strong even though the pieces are smaller. You can see in relation to my hand how small the pieces are. My son loves them playing around and building stuff with them. If you haven’t gotten to experience these and like to build and tinker they are definitely worth a shot. My favorite part is how they click together when you pick them up like the house tutorial shows. The only downside is packaging is very plain. I would suggested a 4-color hang-tag with a plastic bag. It would probably cost just as much overall in packaging and look nicer for customers.
I received this product at a discount to provide my unbiased review. I provide pictures so you can see that I do use the product and how it comes before you buy it so you can make your best decision.

I was really excited to try out this magnetic building set. My almost 4yo son and I had previously played with a larger (size and number) set of magnetic blocks. We had really enjoyed playing with the set and I had every expectation of enjoying these to the same extent. Perhaps my expectations of this set were overly high but I can’t say that I was particularly impressed with the overall value/quality of the blocks. I would estimate them to be worth ~$15 dollars tops. As others have already pointed out, they are quite small, the hexagon is the largest piece and it measures 3 in across. The triangles, at 1.25in per side, are the smallest piece and are a bit awkward for my 4yo to work with. The size may be better suited to an older kid with smaller hands. The pieces do fit together pretty well and the magnets hold with just the right amount of force to keep the structures from falling apart. The same cannot be said, however, for the two wheeled base pieces that come with the kit. The magnets on those do not seem to hold very tightly to the rest of the magnets. The few times my son has played with this so far, the wheel pieces constantly slid out of place and sporadically fell off. Additionally, the wheels make an extremely annoying squeaking noise when rotating. I suspect that the wheel base pieces will not last long in my household. The rest of the pieces seem to be durable enough despite their small size and light weight. My son does enjoy playing with them.

If you’re intending to use this with younger boys, you’ll probably want to know how much abuse this kind of set can hold up to. I will update this review in a few months to better address these types of concerns.

As a disclaimer, I did receive this product at a discounted price in exchange for my testing and review. That said, I take my reputation very seriously and only offer to review items that I have a personal interest in/think I will enjoy. My opinions are 100% my own and are not based on any discount received. I do not feel obligated to give a product a positive review and am not affiliated with this seller or company. I would not hesitate in the least to let you know of any problems with the product, as I often depend on the reviews of others to make my purchases as well.
